The inaugural Kubeflow Summit 2022 was held at the AMA Conference Center San Francisco, with KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Paris 2024 being our first co-located event.
Who will get the most out of attending this event?
Kubeflow Summit is where the community comes together to share experiences, showcase contributions, and highlight how organizations adopt and scale AI/ML workflows on Kubernetes. At its core, Kubeflow is machine learning and AI on Kubernetes, which means its value spans the entire stack—from infrastructure to model deployment.
This event is designed to deliver value across a broad range of personas:
- Machine Learning Engineers (MLEs): Streamline experimentation, training, and deployment pipelines while ensuring reproducibility.
- Data Scientists (DS): Leverage Kubeflow Pipelines and notebooks to iterate quickly, access scalable compute, and integrate models into workflows. (especially with our new SDK)
- MLOps Practitioners: Build and manage robust, automated ML pipelines, enabling continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) for ML.
- DevOps Engineers: Apply Kubernetes-native best practices to scale workloads, manage resources efficiently, and integrate ML into existing infrastructure.
- Platform/Infrastructure Engineers: Provide secure, multi-tenant, and scalable Kubernetes environments optimized for AI/ML.
- Security & Compliance Teams: Use policy enforcement, auditing, and access controls to ensure that ML systems meet organizational and regulatory standards.
- Researchers & Academics: Accelerate scientific discovery with reproducible experiments, large-scale training, and collaborative platforms.
- Product & Business Leaders: Gain insights into how Kubeflow supports faster innovation cycles, reduces costs, and translates ML research into production outcomes.
- Community Contributors & Open Source Developers: Shape the project’s roadmap, contribute features, and build reusable components that strengthen the ecosystem.
The Summit reflects this diversity of perspectives—making it a key venue to learn, collaborate, and advance the practice of running ML/AI on Kubernetes.
What is new and different this year?
This year, we’re bringing a wider range of topics than ever before, with a focus on making Kubeflow easier to use and adopt across diverse environments. As the project rapidly approaches graduation, 2025 marks a pivotal moment—setting the stage for meaningful conversations about the future of Kubeflow and the broader ML/AI ecosystem it empowers.
What will the day look like?
The event will kick off with an engaging Opening Discussion that introduces what Kubeflow is and sets expectations for what the Kubeflow Summit aims to achieve—as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and practical AI/ML on Kubernetes.
Following the opening, we’ll dive into a dynamic lineup of topics, including:
- AI/ML Security
- Best Practices for Cloud-Native AI Infrastructure
- End-User Use Cases
- Kubeflow Community and Ecosystem Updates
- LLM Serving and Fine-Tuning
To wrap up, we’ll conclude with a forward-looking session on “The Future of AI”, exploring how Kubeflow will continue to evolve and impact the broader ML/AI landscape. We will feature a mix of lightning talks and in-depth sessions with demos.
Should I do any homework first?
Users can explore the documentation, check out previous talks, take the Linux Foundation Course, attend community calls, and engage with the community on Slack.
If you are stuck and need support, you can reach out to the chairs mentioned above or say hi to the community in the CNCF Slack Workspace. Chase can point you in the right direction, giving you a warm introduction to the community.
Find your community!
Since 2017, the Kubeflow community has been running AI workloads on Kubernetes, and we actively contribute our knowledge and insights to the Kubernetes AI Conformance program. With the previous CNCF whitepaper on AI ML, the conversations around AI conformance, and MLOPs no longer being a luxury, there is no better time to attend!
We are excited to see the community in action and meet future contributors to the project. This is going to be a great summit!
