Canonical, DigitalOcean and LiveWyer help advance development of cloud native technologies for building modern distributed applications
SEATTLE – CloudNativeCon/KubeCon – November 8, 2016 – The Cloud Native Computing Foundation, which is sustaining and integrating open source technologies to orchestrate containers of microservices, today announced that Canonical, DigitalOcean and LiveWyer have joined the Foundation to drive adoption of container and microservices technologies and to accelerate a cloud native computing paradigm.
These new members have joined a rapidly growing community of more than 65 CNCF members and numerous developers who are passionate about advancing open source innovation, improving the developer experience and removing the complexity from enterprise container management and microservices architectures.
“We’re excited to have Canonical, DigitalOcean and LiveWyer join the Foundation,” said Dan Kohn, Executive Director of Cloud Native Computing Foundation. “The cloud native approach is crucial for enterprises wanting to run at scale and the demand for agile, dynamically-orchestrated technologies is taking off. CNCF’s newest members are joining more than 1,000 cloud native developers, users and experts in Seattle for CloudNativeCon + KubeCon, which kicks off today.

Canonical is the company behind Ubuntu, the leading OS for container, cloud, scale-out and hyperscale computing. 65% of large-scale OpenStack deployments are on Ubuntu, using both KVM and the pure-container LXD hypervisor for the world’s fastest private clouds. Canonical provides enterprise support and services for commercial users of Ubuntu.

The company is simplifying the complexities of infrastructure by offering the fastest and easiest way for developers and businesses to deploy and scale any application in the cloud.

DigitalOcean Software Engineer, Mac Browning, will speak about the use of DigitalOcean Control Center to simplify the user’s interface with Kubernetes in the breakout session “Delivering Services at DigitalOcean.”

The company provides agile professional services and access to the latest enterprise innovations and train partner IT teams on site security, productivity and long-term stability.
