Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) Reseller FAQs

Do I have to be a KCSP to resell the CKA exam?

No. The KCSP and reseller programs are separate. Companies can apply to join either or both.

How do I become a reseller?

If your organization only wants to resell the CKA exams then there’s no contract to sign. Just fill out the ‘CKA Reseller Form’ and we’ll get back to you. If you also want to resell the Kubernetes Training courses then you’ll need to join the Linux Foundation Authorized Training Partner (ATP) program. To apply as an ATP please fill out the ATP application form.

How much does it cost to become a reseller?

There is no cost to join the reseller program.

How do I make money as a reseller?

Resellers purchase coupon codes at a discounted price, the higher the quantity the greater the discount.

Can I access both training and certification for resale?

Yes, though as noted above, if you wish to resell the Training programs you’ll need to join the Authorized Training Partner program of The Linux Foundation. To apply as an ATP please fill out the ATP application form.

What if I want to use my own training to prepare users for the CKA exam?

Organizations are welcome to use their own (or someone else’s) training materials to prepare candidates for the CKA exam that they resell. The training material offered by CNCF is in no way a requirement. The curriculum that the CKA tests on has been open sourced. We encourage you to ensure that your training covers the same material.

How does the reseller program work?

CKA exams are purchased in bulk, minimum quantity of 10, by sending a purchase order to The Linux Foundation at ATP@linuxfoundation.org. Volume discounts start at orders of 50 or more.  The reseller receives single use coupon codes valid for 12 months. These codes are then resold to end users at a price determined by the reseller, not to exceed the list price of $375. It is acceptable to bundle the certification into the cost of training.

Terms for resale of training classes vary by region and by type of content (eLearning vs instructor led). Please contact us via the ATP form above to learn more.

What training options do you offer?

We offer a free, Introduction to Kubernetes course on the edX platform. This is targeted for those who are very new to container orchestration technology.

For those who are wanting to build on that foundational knowledge and prepare for the CKA exam we offer 2 options. First is a self-paced eLearning course for which resellers can purchase coupon codes. The second is an instructor led class pack (student and instructor materials) which resellers can license for delivery via their own instructors.

How long are my codes valid for?

All coupon codes are valid for 12 months from the date of delivery.

Can I get a refund for unsold codes?

There are no refunds. In extenuating circumstances we may be able to extend the expiration dates for codes.

How do I order codes?

Please email your order (including a Purchase Order) to ATP@linuxfoundation.org.

Are there geographic limitations on where I can resell?

You can resell CKA exam codes to any market. For Training content resale please contact us at ATP@linuxfoundation.org to discuss.

What marketing assistance do you provide to resellers?

We will list all authorized resellers on the CNCF website and also occasionally provide marketing materials to promote the program.
